A: A 40 pin 8051 microcontroller is used in this project.
Q: What is sun tracking?
A: Sun tracking is following the direction of incidence of sun light by placing the active face of Solar panel so as to track the maximum sunlight.
Q: What is the solar panel used in this project?
A: 3V, 1.5W solar panel is used in this project.
Q: What is the motor used to track the sun?
A: A bipolar stepper motor is used to track the sun.
Q: Will you provide solar plate in this kit?
A: Yes we provide the solar plate along with the project, but is has limitations.
Q: Whether solar panel is included or not?
A: Yes solar panel ( 3V, 1.5W) is included along with the project
Q: Is this project using any light sensor for tracking the sun?
A: Using Photo diode/ LDR light sensing method is too primitive and goes erratic in cloudy and dusty time. We provide better concept in time division mode for 12 hours in steps for tracking the sun in day time and rest 12 hours of the night to trace back to the start. This is highly reliable.
Q: What is the formula for calculating smoothing capacitor value?
A: There is some approximated formula .Peak to peak ripple voltage = Load current in amps / (2*line frequency in hertz *capacitance in farads). But as rule of thumb for 1 A current 1000uF is best. Thus it is load dependent.
Q: Why did you not choose LDR based (photo) solar tracking?
A: The Photo method goes erratic in cloudy and dusty time. We provide better type in the time division concept.
